Chloe Blades is an artist and bookseller based in Tamaki Makaurau. She paints bold
imagined table scapes dreamt up in the dark throes of early motherhood where there’s often a want to temporarily escape and live in solitude in the Mediterranean. As manager of Unity Books in Auckland she has access to an abundance of books,
which feature in her paintings alongside Aotearoa’s wines. She enjoys playing with bold, beautiful colours to contradict the undercurrents in the content and finds a lot
of humour in the mundane.
